I know, I know Samhain(Halloween) just ended about a week ago but I have no shame in jumping straight into the Yule(Christmas) spirit. after all, it is my favorite holiday and season. don’t get me wrong, I’m the biggest sucker for the turning leaves, pumpkins, howling winds, jac-o-lanterns, ghouls and ghosties! I am after all a spoopy bitch at my core but there’s just something about the holiday time and the colder weather that causes everyone to be a bit sweeter, act nicer and seem merrier. that’s why I love it, everyone’s trying their best to be on Santa’s nice list!
also snow is my favorite kind of weather. I don’t care if it’s negative 20 degrees outside as long as it’s snowing, I’ll be a happy camper! I hope that Luna inherits this spirit for the holiday season. so to somewhat ensure that I’m going to try and get us out of the house everyday with some winter themed activities. sounds kind of weird I know, but I’m a weirdo so whatever. to finally get to the point this is a list of just a few things I want to get out and do before the spring equinox rolls around!
I also plan on doing some short posts about Saturnalia and Yule(essentially the two holidays today’s Christmas traditions are molded around) and how I typically mesh the two together to fit my Hellenistic/Neopaganism practices. also to give some insight on just how alike they are to modern religious holidays that are celebrated around the same time.
so there it is, my winter plans, in short anyways. okay, somewhat short. basically, winters coming and I’m very excited!
